Live In the Moment

Do you realize what you are doing in this moment is going to determine what happens to you in the next. In today’s society so many of us under value a moment. God has given us every moment and we should value it like it was our last. I truly believe if people understood that their momentum is determined by what they do in a moment they would think long and hard before making life changing decisions. According to the Webster’s dictionary, the word momentum means the strength and force in which you move forward.

In other words what you do in one moment will determine your strength and force in the next. You see momentum comes out of moment. , this is why we see young adults vastly giving up their precious gift of virginity, because they fail to understand what I do in this moment will determine my strength in the next. If you spend one moment kissing, and talking dirty, you better understand that the next moment things will speed up because of what you started. Every moment in our lives starts something; it is either starting something positive or negative.

In the book of Deuteronomy we see God giving us a choice to choose life over death so that our children can live. I use to just think that scripture was talking about the physical body. Now I understand that God was trying to make a point far more vital to us than what would happen with our life span. God wanted us to understand that if we chose life in our moments that our children would choose life in their moment. You see whether you believe this or not what you are doing right now is determining the strength and the force in which your children and their children will move in life. If will determine how they will serve God or Satan.

God placed value in every moment of our lives, which is why we must face every moment with a conscious awareness of every, thought, actions and decision. We must ensure that we are living for God in every moment. We do not have time in today’s society to start things we are not ready to finish. Many of us live for the moment, but not in the moment. It is so easy to set our sight on a big moment in life, but to ignore every thing God is speaking to us on a consistent basis.

Jesus lived in the moment when he was on the cross, he did not allow that moment to escape him in hopes of something far more grand than the cross he had to bare in that moment. Jesus lived in the moment but he lived for the promise of God, which is what we should all do in his footsteps. It is time to stop living for the moment and to start living for the promises of God. Jesus was able to bare his present cross because he knew he had to live for the promise of God.

Many of us cave in and quit in the moment, because we are living for a moment that has nothing to do with the promises of God. If you want your strength and your force to propel you toward God, then you must choose to live for God in every moment, because what you do in a moment determines your momentum in the next.
